Interview: Stephen S. Mehler

Stephen-S-Mehler

EARLIER THIS WEEK I had the opportunity to speak via Skype with Stephen S. Mehler, the author of The Land of Osiris and From Light into Darkness. He is one of the authors who inspired me to take my exploration of consciousness studies back in time to see if I could augment my understanding on the subject. I was looking for clues to what these ancient civilizations may have already known:

1. Who were the Khemitians?

2. What do we know about their religion…or spiritual beliefs?

3. Where the Hebrews from Khemit or from a previous civilization?

4. How are the Sufi connected to Khemit?

4a. Have the Sufi been able to stay true to their traditions or have they bent to modern Islam?

Stephan S. Mehler & Abd’El Hakim Awyan

5. How old are the pyramids at Giza…and how can you be sure?

6. Who built the pyramids at Giza?

7. What is the Ur Nil (or Protonile) and what is it’s significance to the pyramid complex at Giza?

8. In your book “The Land of Osiris” you introduce Victor Schauberger’s theory that in the union of hydrogen and oxygen to form water a great deal of potential “energy” was stored. Could the pyramids have been used to tap into this energy?

9. In my book I hope to draw a comparison between the imagery of Horus being anointed with water by Thoth and the Baptism of Jesus (see picture below). The dove appearing over Jesus’ head is not simply “holy spirit” but a representation of a Khemitian-like advanced state of awareness/consciousness…and that the purpose of the icon is as a do-it-yourself guide. What are your thoughts on that idea?

10. Do you feel we have been mislead (on purpose or not) about the history of our planet?

My feeling is that there is a lot we can learn from looking into the past while we forge ahead with new scientific discovery. What we are learning today may have been already known, we need to find the clues that may be in plain sight.

Your comments and questions are invited below.

Jesus, Son of God?

dreamstime_2364068

Sometimes, it seems that the more I learn the less I know.

Growing up in a religious Orthodox Christian family, I took all of the stories around Christ’s life as fact, the unquestionable truth. But the more I dig, looking for clearer understand, I find only a shifting foundation of sand.

Take for example the Jesus, Osiris, Dionysus connection.

Jesus, Osiris, Dionysus
Dionysus, a Greek God (1500—1100 BC) and Osiris, an Egyptian God (pre-2500 BC) were viewed as ‘mythical’ characters…though there is some evidence that points to Osiris as being real and that Dionysus was only modelled after Osiris. Despite that the two characters were used interchangeably in ancient times and in the 3rd century they were even referred to by the composite name “Osiris-Dionysus“.

At the time of Jesus’ stay on the Earth some 2000 years ago the story of Dionysus and Osiris were well established but nobody seemed to notice the similarities between the 3 of them??

A Closer Look
The following stories appear both in the Gospels and in the myths of many of the god-men:

bullet Conception:

bullet God was his father. This was believed to be literally true in the case of Osiris-Dionysus; their God came to earth and engaged in sexual intercourse with a human. The father of Jesus is God in the form of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18).
bullet A human woman, a virgin, was his mother.
bullet Birth:

bullet He was born in a cave or cowshed. Luke 2:7 mentions that Jesus was placed in a manger – an eating trough for animals. One early Christian tradition said that the manger was in a cave.
bullet His birth was prophesized by a star in the heavens.
bullet Ministry:

bullet At a marriage ceremony, he performed the miracle of converting water into wine.
bullet He was powerless to perform miracles in his home town.
bullet His followers were born-again through baptism in water.
bullet He rode triumphantly into a city on a donkey. Tradition records that the inhabitants waved palm leaves.
bullet He had 12 disciples.
bullet He was accused of licentious behavior.
bullet Execution, resurrection, etc:

bullet He was killed near the time of the Vernal Equinox, about MAR-21.
bullet He died “as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
bullet He was hung on a tree, stake, or cross.
bullet After death, he descended into hell.
bullet On the third day after his death, he returned to life.
bullet The cave where he was laid was visited by three of his female followers
bullet He later ascended to heaven.
bullet His titles:

bullet God made flesh.
bullet Savior of the world.
bullet Son of God.
bullet Beliefs about the God-man:

bullet He is “God made man,” and equal to the Father.
bullet He will return in the last days.
bullet He will judge the human race at that time.
bullet Humans are separated from God by original sin. The god-man’s sacrificial death reunites the believer with God and atones for the original sin.

Nobody Noticed?
The reason that nobody noticed the similarities between Jesus and Osiris-Dionysus was because those aspects of Jesus’ life were added hundreds of years later when Rome finally accepted Christianity and fused it with her other pagan beliefs.

Jesus Was A (Great) Man
I choose to believe that Jesus was a real person, a socialist, a rebel against a corrupt Roman-Jewish alliance and perhaps someone who through study and practice of mysticism had come to a deep understanding of the world, the Universe and our place in it. And from that understanding preached love and tolerance.

If we could follow THAT example, I think the world would be a better place.

The New World Order

Well, the 2012 Olympics in London are officially over and wouldn’t you know…no new world order. The Anti-Christ didn’t win gold, silver or bronze…he never even showed up!

From the unveiling of the 2012 logo which some felt spelt out “Zion”, to the design of the one-eyed London Olympic mascots, the “rainbow riding” Wenlock and Mandeville (below), the conspiracy theories were running as rampant as competitors in Monty Python’s Silly Olympics.

Where Do We Go From Here?
With the no-show new world order at the Olympics I felt it was time to do a brief overview of the misunderstood idea of a New World Order and how the symbols, one in particular, may represent something very real delivered to us through time from an as yet unknown pre-historic people.

Novus Ordo Seclorum
Novus Ordo Seclorum is a Latin Phrase translated as “New Order of the Ages” or for conspiracy theorists, “New World Order”.  And it is usually juxtaposed with the Eye of Providence (all seeing eye of God) floating over an unfinished 4-sided pyramid.

This combination has been used on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States since 1782 but is most famously displayed in the wallet of every American on the back of the $1 bill (below).

From my work in marketing I understand the power of symbols and this symbol is way more powerful than the symbols for Nike, Pepsi and The Gap combined.

So what does it mean?
The meaning of this symbol is open for interpretation and there are many. What I feel to be the most thought out interpretation comes from David Wilcock in his book The Source Field Investigations: The Hidden Science and Lost Civilizations Behind the 2012 Prophecies.

David explains that “the Great Seal may reveal a time-encoded prophecy… [about a coming] Golden Age…believed to begin in 2012.” (pg. 426) (Read the full interpretation in his book.)

Masonic Connection
There’s no doubt in my mind that the symbol is clearly Masonic, used by the men who laid the foundations of the United States of America to relay a message first transmitted by a civilization which pre-dates known history. A civilization which Graham Hancock goes into at great length and detail in his book Fingerprints of the Gods: The Quest For Earth’s Lost Civilization.

Personally, I’m not as convinced as David Wilcock that it’s a symbol of a coming worldwide Golden Age as I am that it’s meant to be interpreted as a personal goal or target for our own evolution to “enlightenment”. As David Wilcock eludes to, the open eye at the pyramid’s top is a clear reference to the pineal gland, which I concur is the seat of our connection to what he calls “The Source Field” and what I refer to plainly as God.

33 Degrees to Enlightenment
I will go into much greater detail in my book about this idea, but, the 33 degrees in Masonic hierarchy are a direct relation to the 33 vertebrae which start at the root chakra (Muladhara) and lead up to the pineal gland at the brow chakra (Ajna)…the following and final step leading to Samadhi or a “non-dualistic state of consciousness”. Likewise, I don’t believe that for the fictitious part of the Jesus Christ story it was a coincidence that he “died” at 33…and made his full transformation to The Light of the World.

Like the symbol of the all seeing eye, the Jesus story is meant to provoke us to our own Samadhi enlightenment. A target for our journey toward a personal new world order!

Doctors Don’t Know Everything
Doctors only know as much about the human body that can be disected from it on a physical level, but it’s the things that cannot be seen with the eyes or the edge of a scalpel that are critical to our existence here on Earth and our connection to the living Universe.

Conclusion
Symbols like we saw at the Olympics are prodding us along, tirelessly trying to wake us up to the supernatural powers we all carry inside of us. I believe we have the power to transform ourselves and in turn to change the world, guided by the symbols we are exposed to, toward what I call The Nous Age.

The Golden Gate Bridge

David Boullata at The Golden Gate Bridge in 2011

LAST SUNDAY IN SAN FRANCISCO the Golden Gate Bridge was celebrated on it’s 75th anniversary. Seeing it on the news brought me back to last summer when I was in The City by the Bay with my family. We walked across the chilly, sometimes foggy span, dodging (and being dodged by) other tourists on rented bicycles. The view, the wind…it was truly a memorable experience.

One of the most recognized landmarks in America, in 2007 The Golden Gate Bridge was declared one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers and it is…but what’s with the name, it’s not Golden!? What I discovered while trying to answer that question led me to a mysterious connection to both ancient Egyptian mythology and Christian lore

The Name
According to Wikipedia, the bridge received it’s name from the strait below it that connects the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. It would be easy to assume that the bridge (and the strait) received their name through the Gold Rush years in California but that in fact is not true.

It was on the 1st of July 1846, 2 years before the first gold was even discovered in California,  that military officer and explorer John C. Fremont wrote in his memoirs about the entrance to San Francisco Bay, “To this Gate I gave the name of ‘Chrysopylae’, or ‘Golden Gate’; for the same reasons that the harbor of Byzantium was called Chrysoceras, or Golden Horn“.

Mirror Images
Now, mirroring old world places in the new world was nothing new (ex. New England, New York, New Rome) but I believe the new world Golden Gate has even greater significance than you may suspect, going back to biblical times and perhaps earlier than that.

This (above) is the Golden Gate in Jerusalem which looks East incidentally, as you enter the city through this gate you are moving West. This is supposedly the gate which Jesus rode through on what became known as Palm Sunday to Christians. According to Jewish tradition they are still waiting for the Messiah to arrive through this gate. The Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent sealed off the Golden Gate in 1541…though it may have been for defensive reasons.

While attending a funeral this past Sunday and trying to locate a water fountain in the columbarium where I was I came across an icon of Jesus, on the back of a donkey riding into Jerusalem through the Golden Gate. I didn’t understand the connection until I remembered my ancient Egyptian mythology.

The Egyptian Golden Gate
Ancient Egyptians associated the East with birth and the West with death, a point of view that most certainly came from the rising and setting Sun. Upon death they believed you would pass through (see: Book of Gates)…you guessed it a Golden Gate! Which brings us right back full circle to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

It seems that the Golden Gate Bridge is not the only place in San Franciso with an Egyptian connection!

According to Secretsinplainsight‘s video on San Francisco from the De Young Museum and the Trans America Pyramid, to Treasure Island, Angel Island and Alcatraz San Francisco has an overabundance of Egyptian symbolism.

Jesus, Bill Maher and The Fruit of Knowledge

Mural above entrance to Rockefeller Plaza

SOMETIMES THE FURTHER DOWN the rabbit hole I go to research my book, the further it seems I need to go.

While working on unraveling the parallels between ancient Egypt (Khemet) and Christian beliefs I was sidetracked by the story of a Caucasian man, with a beard and flowing robes who brought peace and knowledge to a primative people. At first reading you might immediately suppose I was talking about Jesus, but I’m not.

The Bringer of Peace
This bringer of peace arrived between 15 and 10-thousand years before Jesus to what we now call South and Central America. He was known by a few names: Itzamna, Votan  and Gucumatz, and in the North: Kukulkan and Quetzalcoatl translated to mean ‘Plumed (or feathered) Snake’.

All of the legends state that he arrived from across the Eastern Sea and that he departed saying he would return one day, but couldn’t be more specific. Which makes it easy to understand why native Americans put up no resistance when the Conquistadors arrived in the 16th century…that they believed Cortez with his pale face and shining armour was the return, or ‘second coming’ of their saviour. Oops.

Evil Triumphs
So why did Quetzalcoatl go away? Legend says that the age of enlightenment ended at the hand of Tezcatlipoca, an evil minded god whose name means ‘Smoking Mirror’, after a near cosmic battle. As soon as Quetzalcoatl was gone human sacrifice and over-all bad behaviour was re-instated.

While researchers such as Graham Hancock believe that based on the consistency of the story throughout pre-Columbian society, Quetzalcoatl was indeed a historical figure and not a personification of celestial events. However, could that battle have been the original inspiration for the ancient Egyptian daily battle between Horus (the Sun god) and Set? The never-ending battle between good and evil…?

The Christian Connection
Bring it all forward in time and mix it with the 2nd century Gnostic belief in 2 gods:  one good (the god of the spirit world) and one evil (the god of the material world), the same belief which was later adopted by the Cathar and Bogomils … and you start to have some interesting thoughts. Particularly of the parallel between the Plumed Snake and the Judeo-Christian snake of Eden…tempting Adam and Eve with the fruit of ‘knowledge’.

Bill Maher
As Bill Maher put it in last weeks episode of Real Time with Bill Maher (Episode 240 3:30), “…Adam and Eve…screwed it up for everybody when they ate an apple from the tree of KNOWLEDGE,” and continued, “Rick Santorum home schools his children because he does not want them eating that…apple”.

Ironically, the Cathar who brought equality, peace and knowledge to the North-Western Mediterranean were slaughtered wholesale by the Catholic Church in the 14th century AD, becoming what one could see as “the modern day Tezcatlipoca”. It can only be lamented as to the kind of world we would be living in today had the open mindedness of Catharism been allowed to flourish.

The perpetual battle between good and evil…light and darkness…spirit and matter…continues…

These Three Kings

I am a Christian in the deepest sense of the term.

However, unlike most Christians I have encountered so far on my journey, I believe the story of Christ is a metaphor for the potential that lives deep inside each of us and is struggling to be found.

Dogma of the various Christian traditions prevents this personal “birth” to happen and I encourage all of my Christian friends to break free and think “outside of the box”.

Set aside your disbelief for a moment and consider what I am about to write:

The Truth
A lot of the stories we have come to view as fact are in reality tales past down through time, with origins going back thousands of years. The names change, sometimes the locations too but the significance of the stories don’t. And a lot of these stories came long before the birth of Jesus and the Judeo-Christian tradition itself!

For longer than recorded history the constellation of Orion has risen in the East, traveled across the sky and set in the West. 3 distinctive stars across his midsection (pictured above, right) are known as Orion’s Belt. They are also known as “The 3 Kings” by many cultures and even modern astronomers.

The Gospel of Matthew, the only one of the four Canonical gospels to mention the 3 kings, states that they came “from the east” to worship the Christ, “born King of the Jews.”

Son or Sun?
Imagine for a moment that the story of the birth of the Son of God was a personification of what everybody saw throughout history, is seeing today and will be seeing for millennia as 3 stars, coming from the East! If you were to follow an imaginary line through the 3 Kings from right to left you would run into a star (Sirius) the brightest star in the sky (aside from the sun) with an apparent magnitude of −1.46…and if you were to continue that imaginary line to the left you would eventually bump into the rising sun.

Is this simply a coincidence? 3 Kings, following a bright star to discover the Sun?

The Orion Correlation
Ancient Egyptians put a lot of importance on the 3 Kings too! Author Robert Bauval first talked about The Orion Correlation in his book The Orion Mystery and continues to draw fascinating conclusions about the ancient Egyptians in his latest book Black Genesis.

Likely the reason the Egyptians put so much importance on The 3 Kings and what they were pointing to, namely the Sun…is the same reason Christians incorporated it into their tradition, too.

The majestic limestone Sphynx on the Giza plateau in Egypt, which many believe pre-dates the pyramids themselves, patiently waits, watches and points toward the East and the returning Sun.

Conclusion
Think about this: if you wanted to leave a message for your teenage son to start the dishwasher when he got home from school, you’d write a note and leave it where he would be sure to see it, right?

But, what if you wanted to leave an important message for future generations, that was sure to last more than 10,000 years for your ancestors to find, how would you do it? Build a monument…? And then maybe to support that message, to be sure it gets through, perhaps use the ancient art of storytelling, surely future generations will get it then, right…?

I believe we have received the message, but wonder if we will interpret it in time?

P.S.
The consumerism of the season can indeed be overwhelming, don’t get distracted from what the 3 Kings are trying to show you, pay attention, it’s been hiding in plain sight for 10s of thousands of years. Merry Christmas and I hope that the divine light inside of you, is found. Peace.

One Year to Doomsday!

Sorry for the sarcasm, I couldn’t resist…

If you are a regular reader of my blog you know that the idea of a “doomsday” on December 21, 2012 is NOT my thing. I believe that nothing will happen of the cataclysmic variety. I do believe however that something akin to an awakening is more likely to happen.

In the past year we saw evidence that an awakening has already begun…and on a global scale namely the so-called “Arab Spring” and the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. I, for one, am intrigued about what’s on the horizon in 2012.

Prophecies
There are a number of prophecies pointing at that date the most famous of which is the Mayan Calendar. Native American‘s have their prophecies, so did  Nostradamus and Edgar Casey.

However, as I continue my research I feel like I am following a bread trail that has been left for us to discover through the Judeo-Christian tradition and it’s pointing to a similar event, Jesus’ baptism in the river Jordan. The river Jordan is a representation of the river of light that flows across our night sky, that we call The Milky Way…the Son of God represents the Sun as it will stand in the river at sunrise on December 21st, 2012 and through ‘him’ receive some form of enlightenment. The Sun/Son is “the door”…”the way” to Sion, the kindom of heaven.

The Secret of Sion
This morning I received an email from William Henry who has just published his new book, The Secret of Sion, and in it he details what I have also discovered. You can watch a short video introduction to his research here.

It’s Happened Before
This won’t be the first time around for us, this (whatever this turns out to be) happens every 13,000 years or so as we pass through this particular neighbourhood of space, some sort of wave of charged particles emanating from the centre of the Milky Way will spark us to wake up, the veil lifted from our eyes.

It takes the Earth, it’s sister planets and Sun a total of 26,000 years to make it’s journey all the way around our Galaxy. Twice during the trip we pass through this beam of consciousness changing photons, if that’s what it indeed is. Like the oxygen Las Vegas pumps into the casinos, we will start feeling and thinking clearer…will wake up to the futility of our current status and see the war makers and resource hoarders for who they are…and demand a better world, a better way of life…for all human kind.

Jesus’ Baptism and 2012

The Milky Way

If you’re lucky enough to live in an area that doesn’t suffer the tragedy of light pollution, you may have become blasé to what I call “the greatest show on Earth”, namely the night sky.

The most profound part of the night sky for me is the thick band of light that goes from horizon to horizon and seems to wrap the Earth in a ribbon of light. In reality it is the edge-on view of our Galaxy, The Milky Way.

From Khemit to Today
From the point of view of ancient Egypt (or as they themselves referred to it, Khemit) the Milky Way seemed like an extension of the life giving Nile River, which seemed to have it’s origin in the Southern horizon (lower Africa) and snaked it’s way North into the Mediterranean Sea. It could be interpreted by them that the Nile was an extension of the heavenly Milky Way “river”.

As I continue the research for my book I have come to believe that a lot of what we know as Abrahamic religious traditions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) have their foundation in the ancient religion of the Khemetians of North Africa and that the traditions of the Khemitians are alive and well in one form or another disguised as Judaeo-Christian stories. One case in point:  the Baptism of The Son of God in the river Jordan.

The Baptism of The Son of God

The Baptism of The Son of God

Imagine that the river Jordan is a metaphor for the Nile/Milky Way and that the Son of God (Jesus) is the Sun. I believe that the so called ‘baptism’ is actually a representation of the conjunction between the rising Sun and the Milky Way, but not just any conjunction, a conjunction between the Sun and the center of our galaxy, and what is known as The Dark Rift.

Conjuntion-juntion, What’s Your Function?
What’s so special about this conjunction? Well it does happen every year on the same date but the next conjunction will have the Sunrise directly in the center of the Dark Rift, the first time in nearly 10,500 years. That date? December 21, 2012…yes, the same date as the misinterpreted end of the world date of the Mayan calendar. I don’t believe that it will be the end of the world, I do believe that it will be the start of some sort of “age of enlightenment”.

Let’s go back to the Baptism of Jesus for a minute and examine the iconography of the event that has been passed down through the ages:

Look at these depictions (below) of the event and notice the always present 3 pronged beam of light placed over Jesus’ head in each of them and/or the white dove which is seen as a symbol of love, peace or as a “messenger”.

Could the encoded message in these icons be that on the day of the “baptism” (ie. conjunction) we could expect some sort of divine connection between us and the Universe to happen? It definitely would change the way we look at Jesus, The Bible and certainly open religions to new interpretations.

New Evidence
I also have uncovered evidence that this same message has been hidden in plain sight in non-religious form similar to the evidence I presented in my Is This Liberty post. But this evidence will have to wait for my book to be completed.

I eagerly look forward to your comment, please enter it below.
